Each artist as they face their own maturity must  find a personal visual language through which they express what they hold as valuable. This is a decades long endeavor. In my recent work I tried to combine both drawing and painting as one process of thought. In the past , I found my approach to paint was quite tight and formal. Strangely, I felt the polar opposite about drawing. Drawing has always been freer and  intimate. I wanted this quality in my painting , so I began working back and forth between the two. This method allowed me a grammar of my own creation. I hope you like the results. All of these images are based on photos I took of my local public park, D.W. Field in Brockton, MA.
