SKF Designs, Inc is a fine arts studio is located in the center of Stoughton, Massachusetts. Founded in 2006 by Sarah K. Feragen, an artist for more than 53 years, specializing in landscape painting with additional expertise in commercial illustration and mural work.
Ms. Feragen's education started at 16 when she attended The Decordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA. Later at 18, the artist enrolled in the Massachusetts College of Art graduating four years later with a B.F.A. in painting. During her senior year Sarah was invited (as a consortium student) by D. Lowry Burgess and Paul Earls to attend classes at The Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT where she attended classes taught by such notables as Otto Piene and Alejandro Sina. While at the Center, Sarah was actively involved in numerous conceptual and environmental art projects. Two examples include Boston's BiCentenial "City Ring" and the 1st First Night. Later Ms. Feragen did post graduate work at the Carpenter Center at Harvard University in color with Albert Alcalay and, also, in Islamic Art.
The artist has consistently sold her paintings and contributed
to many collections around the world including a major electronics firm in Japan. Her work has been seen on Newbury Street and the Museum of Science ("Skyfire" a joint show with Eric Sloane).
Sarah K. Feragen brings a wealth of unique visual ideas to any project she undertakes. Her breadth of knowledge, in both, imagery and materials, gives her work a depth of visual expression to be enjoyed for many years to come.
